marathon and novice challenge

Where: Satanka Cove (North Dam) Horsetooth Reservoir - Fort Collins, CO

When: October 10th

Who: The Fort Collins Rowing Association welcomes all rowers who wish to row either the Ache or Challenge.
(Novices only for the novice challenge)

Registration: E-mail your registration form to the address below. We ask that you only send the registration form early, all payments and the waiver can be done the morning of the event. Thank you.

We do need an e-mail with the registration form as it is important that we know approximately how many people are coming to plan the Ache.

Cost: $20 (includes Horsetooth Ache eco-friendly waterbottle and lunch)

Events

Registration opens at 6:00 a.m. All boats need to be rigged and on the water by 7:15 for the 7:30 start.

Half Marathon Ache - 7:30 a.m. - There is a 180 degree turn at the half way point. This race course covers the entire length of Horsetooth reservoir, and back. The race can be seen from most parking lots along Horsetooth reservoir.

2000m Novice Challenge - 9:30 a.m. - This event will be held near the North dam immediately following the Ache.

Event Schedule
6:00 - registration opens
6:30 - coaches/ coxswain meeting - recommend that all volunteers be there for this meeting
6:45 – Start Launching Ache rowers
7:30 – Start Ache – Mass Start.
9:15 – Start Launching Novice Sprint rowers (time approximate)
9:30 – Novice only Sprint Start (time approximate)
Lunch Immediately following the end of the novice challenge.

Note
This is not a race and there are no awards (except the awesome waterbottle). This is a great challenge and a fun time! There will be motorboats for safety, but each boat is required to keep its own time.
